  • When driving in parking lots, drivers should be able to see pot holes and other roadway obtrusions, including other vehicles.

“The area had a low crime rate and no assault had occurred in the business’ property in over 12 years. However, a court ruled that the woman should be compensated because the assault was predictable.

The area had poor lighting, there are always people wandering in the parking lot, there were no security guards to patrol the place, and the company could have taken more safety measures to prevent assaults.”

Warehouse Lighting: Avoid Unnecessary and Costly Fines with LED Lighting

Across the country, safety violations and fines cost warehouse Owners & Operators thousands of dollars or more and some of it is due to insufficient lighting and safety standards.

In another case in Jersey City, New Jersey, $64,400 in penalties was assessed by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Among the violations was a failure to “provide auxiliary directional lighting on powered industrial trucks for areas where the general lighting was less than two lumens per square foot.”

Congressional Country Club LED Project

Cenergetix provided an LED lighting upgrade to reduce energy costs and maintenance expense for the infrastructure of the largest private country club facility in the United States.

Summary of Project:

Cenergetix retrofitted 942 fluorescent fixtures with LED Living Technology’s LED retrofit kits, and installed 825 FEIT LED lamps and 48 various exterior LED fixtures throughout eleven of the buildings distributed throughout the grounds of the exclusive club. Congressional Country Club members will save 478,116 kWh of energy, reducing their operating expenses by approximately $52, 593.00, repairs & maintenance expenses by $24,796.00. The Total project cost project cost was offset by Cenergetix LLC securing $138,857.00 in rebate incentives from PEPCO and the State of Maryland.

Congressional Country Club, its Board of Directors, and the on-site management team selected the Cenergetix / LED Living Technology retrofit solution due to its ease of use, flexibility of installation, efficiency, and the industry leading 10-year warranty. Simply, the Cenergetix LLC solution outperformed all other products submitted in response to the RFP. The individual golf courses realized that the LED Living Technology and Cenergetix provide the most efficient long lasting solutions available, featuring up to75% power consumption reduction when compared with fluorescent tubes and performing at an extremely efficient 130 Lumens/Watt, as well as the superior specifications of the other DLC listed LED equipment offered by Cenergetix, and agreed to move forward with the projects as recommended by their parent organization.

Congressional Country Club is a country club and golf course in Bethesda, Maryland, USA. Congressional opened in 1924 and its Blue Course has hosted five major championships, including three U.S. Opens and a PGA Championship. Founding life members include William H. US Fish and Wildlife Service Center LED Retrofit

Cenergetix retrofitted 574 fluorescent fixtures with LED Living Technology’s LED retrofit kits throughout the The US Fish and Wildlife Center in Laurel, Maryland .

The US Fish and Wildlife Service will save 70,400 kWh of energy and reduce their operating expenses by $6,300 annually and their maintenance expenses by $6,700.

Total project cost was $107,900 and Cenergetix was able to obtain $99,000 of rebates from the utility to offset the cost to the service.

The US Fish and Wildlife center in Laurel, Maryland is part of the Patuxent Research Refuge, which was established in 1936 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.  The refuge now covers 12,841 acres between Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD.  Much of the refuge is open to the public to explore and learn about local flora and fauna.  In addition, there are research facilities for US Fish and Wildlife and the US Geological Survey; this project covered the labs and storage buildings for the former.

The US Geological Survey Center Gets LED Retrofit

Cenergetix retrofitted 1171 fluorescent fixtures with LED Living Technology’s LED retrofit kits throughout the facilities at The US Geological Survey center in Laurel, Maryland .

The US Geological Survey will save 205,983 kWh of energy and reduce their operating expenses by $14,600 annually and their maintenance expenses by $18,000. Total project cost was $247,500 and Cenergetix was able to obtain $199,000 of rebates from the utility to offset the cost to the organization.
